It may only be spring practice for the football team, but it’s game time for the senior girls’ powderpuff football team as they take part in a district tournament Thursday at Warren Sports Complex.

“I’m really excited to play because I get to see my friends from other schools,” senior Sydney Andros said. “It really just gives us an opportunity to all come together as a district.”

The team enters the tournament on the heels of beating the juniors 49-7.

“Playing was really fun,” senior Avery Suder said. “It was raining so the field was muddy and everyone was just having a good time.”

The Redhawks open the tournament by taking on Heritage High School.

“We have had quite a few practices over the weeks,” senior, coach Connor Hulstien said. “So we have been able to run some drills. Seeing what these girls can do has been really impressive, and I can’t wait to show the other teams.”
