With Hispanic Heritage month currently underway, it’s the perfect time to reflect on some of the most beloved actors in the entertainment industry.

Among the biggest of these names is Sofia Vergara. In 2020, she was the highest paid actress in Hollywood, but how did she achieve this massive success?

Sofia was born in Colombia, and as she got older, she pursued a career in modeling. Wanting someone with good looks to star in their upcoming advertisement, Pepsi got the then 17 Sofia for it. Airing in South America in 1989, This would be the start of Vergara’s television career.

With her television experience and her looks, Vergara would go on to do work for Univision, an American Spanish television network, and in the early 2000’s she would soon start doing English television and smaller films, oftentimes playing herself.

By 2009, Vergara was already successful, constantly finding new work, but she would start to achieve superstardom when she started playing the role of Gloria Delgado-Prichette on the sitcom Modern family.

Modern Family would run from 2009 to 2020, and during that time, Vergara would achieve near unprecedented success, winning an Emmy for her role on the show four years in a row. With her name known throughout all of the entertainment industry, Vergara would appear on talk shows and endorse products, including Pepsi, which started her career so many years before.

Currently, Sofia Vergara is still doing endorsements and is currently a judge on America’s Got Talent. Although Modern Family is over, Vergara is still a household name, and hopefully, there are still more great highs in her Career.
