Rezoning attendance zones isn’t the only thing being discussed by Frisco ISD officials as they met to discuss labor statistics for the 2021-2022 hiring season.

According to FISD Chief Human Resources Officer Pamela Linton, the district had 857 resignations from May 22 to Sept. 16, from a total of 8,070 staff members. This equates to a turnover rate of 12%, but is in line with what is being called the “great resignation”.

“I will tell you that the turnover rate for teachers is higher than we had in the past, but it was to be expected,” Linton said at a special meeting of the Frisco ISD Board of Trustees. “It absolutely was to be expected with everything that was going on.”

To offset the resignations, Frisco ISD hired a total of 966 employees, with 613 of them being teachers.

“We hired about the same amount,” Linton said. “The hiring didn’t change. It’s just the nature of what happened that changed.”
