The holiday season can be stressful, but Student Council is hosting a teachers night out where teachers can drop off their children for the night to give them a break. Student Council members will provide free childcare for the children.

The student council is hosting Teacher’s Night Out on campus after school from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and providing free babysitting, giving teachers several hours for themselves.

“We do it every year around the holidays,” Student Council teacher Kandy Stevens said. “It’s a way for the student council to give back to the staff. Teachers are able to bring their kids out, drop them off, and we feed them dinner, do crafts, and watch a movie. It allows teachers to get a couple of hours of Christmas shopping in.”

Student council members are eager to give back to their community by watching teachers’ kids this Friday.

“It’s important because they’re working hard every single day for us,” Student Council vice-president Paeton Davis said. “It’s nice to give them a break and babysit their kids for a few hours. I’m looking forward to the crafts, games, and getting to know the kids.”
