With only one meet left until the district meet on Jan. 20, the Redhawks swim team is focusing on the future and using Thursday’s swim meet against Lebanon Trail and Wakeland as a warm-up.

“I think we will perform well,” head coach Nick Dion said. “This is a mostly low-stakes meet after several championship level meets. I expect we’ll come out loose and ready to swim.”

Having already competed in several meets Dion hopes the team feels confident in their abilities.

“I’d like for our team to head into the break feeling good about what we’ve accomplished to this point in the season,” Dion said. “Once we get back from the break, we will immediately get ready for District.”

Junior Henry Nguyen always wants to try his best but feels that this meet isn’t that important to him.

“I mean, this meet isn’t really that big of a deal for us so I’m just gonna go out there and try my best, but it’s not like one of our best meets,” Nguyen said. “We just had a meet this weekend, but other than that I shouldn’t be too tired to compete.”
