Wednesday night is National Honor Society’s induction for new members. “Students exemplify the core values of NHS, which [include] scholarship, service, leadership, and character. We [also] aim to build our community and become more involved,” Marcela Pedron said.

National Honor Society is hosting its induction ceremony on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

“We will have all of the students on stage, give a couple of speeches, [and] light a candle for each core value of NHS,” NHS officer Marcela Pedron said. “Then, [we will] call each member to get a certificate and finish with the pledge!”

The ceremony is a reminder of the values that new members are expected to uphold.

“Being a part of NHS is a big opportunity,” Pedron said. “Students exemplify the core values of NHS, which [include] scholarship, service, leadership, and character. We [also] aim to build our community and become more involved!”

Despite these expectations, many new members are excited to be a part of National Honor Society and see what the organization has to offer.

“I am excited to meet current and selected members of NHS at the induction ceremony as I believe this will build a greater sense of community,” junior Mishaail Ibrahim said. “I am [also] looking forward to acquiring more service opportunities and leveraging the synergies offered by the program.”
