Wingspan: What has been your favorite part of the season?

Dehnisch: “My favorite part has been beating wakeland. It meant so much because we haven’t beat Wakeland for 7 years.”

Wingspan: What has been the biggest challenge this season?

Dehnisch: “The biggest challenge has been adapting to our new style of play. Last year we could hit really well, however with a lot of our seniors graduating last year we had to change to more of a small ball team. We really had to embrace the underdog role, and I think we have done a really good job of that so far.”

Wingspan: What’s your team’s greatest strength?

Dehnisch: “Our greatest strength is definitely our baserunning. We do a really good job of stealing bases and finding ways to sneak an extra bag.”

Wingspan:What advice would you give to underclassmen on the team?

Dehnisch: “Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Give 100% all the time and coaches will notice.”

Wingspan: What are your goals for next year?

Dehnisch: “I think we have a really good shot at winning districts next year. I really like who we have coming back and I think we can still be really good.”

Wingspan: Who is your biggest inspiration?

Dehnisch: “It’s probably my dad. He’s such a good role model and he’s exactly the type of person I wanna be when I’m older. He works so hard in everything he does and he impacts so many people.”
