The season is over for both boys’ and girls’ soccer as the teams were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs.

The girls’ team fell 3-2 to Prosper Thursday night at home after taking an early 2-0 lead.

“We could have gone really far and we worked so hard towards the end of the season so it sucks that it ended so quickly,” senior Jessica Long said. “I’m happy with the team and how well we have played this season so it’s bittersweet.”

For the boys’ team, it was a match against McKinney. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the boys tied it 2-2. The game eventually went to penalty kicks with the team falling 4-1.

“We started the season very slow and lost a lot of games we easily should have won,” senior forward Rob Rever said. “But we didn’t give up. We got over the lack of chemistry and the arguments and fights off the field to come together and be one cohesive unit. That’s why towards the end of the season things started clicking, and we clinched playoffs for the sixth straight season. That is why this season meant so much to me. We had to earn playoffs. We had to earn 3rd place in district. It wasn’t granted to us just based on how good we were last year or the year before. So even though we were out the first round, I am satisfied with the way our team came together to finish our season strong.”
