As usual, one of my childhood obsessions has been revamped, and not for the first time this year.

The Percy Jackson series is getting a new addition in fall 2023—a sixth book that takes place after Heroes of Olympus and before The Trials of Apollo, where Percy must embark on quests to obtain admission into college.

It’s a fun and more light adventure than Percy Jackson and the Olympians (PJO) fans are used to, usually reading about the world being in danger or someone dying. Now I get to kick back and enjoy a silly little promotion for the upcoming Disney+ series.

As someone who has spent years praying for a slice of life, I have high hopes for this casual tale about one of my all time favorite characters and universes.

While there are many expectations to be met, and I’m slightly scared about this book butchering the epic, multi-decade legacy that the originals created, I think it’ll be an amazing continuation of the world Riordan has created.

That being said, my live reaction to the news was nothing short of screaming while jumping up and down.

What can I say? I love a good book, and this is sure to be just that.
