Volleyball faces Frisco in first round of playoffs
Volleyball playoffs for volleyball are underway with the Redhawks battling against the Frisco Racoons for the Bi-District Championship on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Panther Creek High School.
“We have been fortunate enough to have a week off of playing games so we have got to work on a lot of little things at practice and really just fine tune our gameplay,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “I am expecting on Tuesday for us to be pretty successful.”
For freshman Jaiden Harris, placing first in District 10-5A gives the team extra motivation heading into the first round of playoffs.
“Placing first in districts is a huge confidence booster going into playoffs and hopefully we can use the momentum going into the first round,” Harris said. “This season has meant so much to us and we all got so close and that played a huge part in our success.”
The team played Frisco earlier in the season and came out on top, so they are looking for the same results on Tuesday.
“We played Frisco High at the beginning of September, but it has been a couple of months since then,” Dobbins said. “I think we have gotten better and I think they are going to be better competition tonight, but I still think we are going to win.”
Junior Grace Payne believes the team has what it takes to pull out a win against the Racoons.
“We are going to go in and we are going to play really hard,” Payne said. “We just came off a really good win and it is our first playoff game so I am very confident in the team’s abilities heading into the game.”
