Rhea of Sunshine: management agencies
March 8, 2023
Coming from someone who goes to a lot of concerts, I believe that the management team takes advantage of fans. Let me explain.
Fans pay hundreds, even thousands of dollars to go see their favorite artists perform live. The concert market has been booming ever since people are no longer in quarantine. As different artists are announcing their tour dates, fans line up on websites in order to grab tickets for a reasonable price, and if you aren’t able to do that, then you’re usually going to pay an arm and a leg for good seats; especially if the concert is taking place in a big arena such as AT&T Stadium or American Airlines Center.
However, artists never arrive at the time that is listed. When fans arrive they usually have to wait long periods of time for the artist to come out. This is when fans are being taken advantage of. During the wait time, there’s many food and drink options available as well as merchandise that people can purchase. However, all of it is extremely overpriced.
People are already paying so much for tickets and now as they’re waiting, they’re being faced with many extremely overpriced things to cure their boredom. The management agencies know how this system works, so they purposely influence people into spending their money.
Additionally, another thing fans have to keep in mind is their transportation. If you drive there, then you have to pay for parking, If you don’t drive then you must spend money for something like Uber.
All in all, make sure the next concert you go to, make sure you’re being reasonable about the money you spend.
