Having art classes encourages self- expression and creativity and can build confidence as well as a sense of individual identity. It also helps children with the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision making, risk taking, and inventiveness. It may also strengthen problem- solving abilities.
Art also gives us the ability to express ourselves, when you see another person’s art, you’re seeing the world through their eyes. It decreases the amount of stress for students, leading to greater social harmony, and improving much needed skills. It’ll also help them figure out what type of art is best for them, like for example; painting, sculpture, literature, architecture, cinema, music, or theater. After you figure out which one, you can look into some colleges that might provide that.
Art education increases creativity and open-mindedness, creativity is cited by business leaders as the top leadership competency for the future.
Alan Parker once said, “Art in schools shouldn’t be sidelined… it should be right there right up in the front because I think art teaches you to deal with the world around you. It is the oxygen that makes all the other subjects breathe.”
