Now that school is back in session, so are coughs, sneezes, headaches, and other contagious viruses. But staying healthy can be as simple as a visit to the school library.
Every year Frisco ISD hosts a traveling flu clinic. This year’s stop on campus is Tuesday from 4:30-6 p.m. in the library.
“Getting the flu shot is important so that you can help prevent the spread of the flu,” campus nurse Lindsey McDavid said. “The shots cover certain strains that they’ve seen in other parts of the country and other times of the year.”
The flu clinic is open to students and their families, and well as staff members and is free with insurance.
“They try their best every year to get the strain that can be treated or prevented from getting the shot,” McDavid said. “And by getting that, you can keep yourself and other people healthier.”
All participants must register online this year and must have a filled out consent form as well as photocopies of your insurance card and driver’s license with you when you arrive at the clinic.
