Education is the business of school, but helping build awareness about mental health is something more and more districts are incorporating into their toolbox of learning.
One way Frisco ISD is doing this is through Wednesday’s community discussion on the building blocks of mental health depression and suicide prevention.
Sponsored by the guidance and counseling department, the Frisco ISD Council of PTA’s, and the Grant Halliburton Foundation, the district is hosting a virtual conversation open to the community from 6 to 7 p.m.
Discussing topics such as adolescent depression and suicide prevention, the community conversation will also help provide coping skills to build mental wellness.
Wednesday’s meeting is a virtual conversation and interested parties must RSVP to get the Zoom link.
