The counseling department is gearing up for administering over 30 AP tests and STAAR tests starting Monday.

“Some of the planning goes all the way back to the beginning of the year,” counselor Ryan Kiefer said. “We look at things like how many students have taken this exam, how many are registered for certain tests. Especially three or four weeks before testing, it’s very intense with the logistics of testing.”

AP testing begins Monday and will conclude May 13 at 4:00 p.m. with late testing dates available the following week, all of which has been scheduled and managed by the counseling department.

“Preplanning is the major factor I would say,” Kiefer said. “And just being very proactive so that you have the people and the rooms that you need. As long as you have a lot of forethought and getting those things planned ahead of time.”
