If there was any doubt who the District 10-5A volleyball champion is, the Redhawks proved it for the 14th straight time Tuesday night when they beat Lebanon Trail 3-1 to finish undefeated in district play.
“I feel really proud of our team and all of the hard work we have put in this season to get here,” senior MJ McCurdy said. “We did not perform our best last night against Lebanon Trail and we should’ve swept them, but we are happy we came out with a win.”
Going through the district schedule without a loss took a lot of preparation according to head coach Eighmy Dobbins.
“I am glad we won, and so proud of our girls for finishing undefeated this season,” Dobbins said. “We work really hard in the gym and watch lots of film before games to understand teams strengths and weaknesses, which helps us feel really confident going into each match.”
But the journey is not over for Redhawk volleyball, the team is off to playoffs with their first game on Monday.
“We treat the playoffs like any other game,” McCurdy said. “Just putting in our all at practice and not letting it get to our heads.”
