Friday night lights came to a close, as the Redhawk football team played their final game of the 2023 season, losing to Sherman 42-7.
“Definitely kinda sad, it just feels like it all went by way too fast,” senior Ryan Chapman said. “I’m definitely going to miss playing with my teammates and the physicality aspect of football.”
For senior Ben Douccette hanging up his cleats isn’t easy.
“It’s kinda bittersweet,” he said. “I wish things could have gone better, but I know I gave it everything I had.”
Even though the team went 0-10 this year, junior Khaleb Cooper is ready to head into the offseason and get straight to work hoping to improve next year.
“I know we went 0-10, but it was fun while playing,” Cooper said. “Off-season is about to start, so me and my boys are finna lock in and get better every day.”
