Soccer continues their preseason scrimmages Tuesday when the boys take on McKinney North, while the girls face off against Mansfield.
But as the weather gets colder, sicknesses are sure to pop up. Monday and Tuesday morning, many of the boys woke up feeling ill, affecting the teams’ numbers.
“Honestly, our biggest adjustment right now is we have got so many people getting sick and nagging injuries,” head boys’ coach Evan Mcgee said. “So our roster has been dwindling a little bit, about 6-7 guys [out].”
The girls’ are coming off a 1-0 loss against Rock Hill, with their biggest challenge being communication and confidence according to sophomore Katie Meeks.
“I would say we need to be better at communicating and keeping our heads up when we are faced with hard teams,” she said. “I hope as a team we win tonight and games moving forward, as well as staying positive throughout the season.”
