The boys’ basketball team (6-5) fell short at home against Memorial (8-3) Friday, losing a back-and-forth, down-to-wire game 64-60 in overtime.
Taking on District 10-5A opponent Walnut Grove for the first time, the boys’ basketball team lost 61-35 on Tuesday, bringing the Redhawks district record to 2-2.
“I thought we embraced the challenge of one of the better teams we played all year, but I think that there’s a lot of areas for growth,” head coach Bruce Wright said.
Although Walnut Grove is currently first place in the district, freshman Ian Williams believes that the Redhawks did not perform as well as they should’ve.
“We couldn’t hit shots nor could we finish around the rim,” Williams said. “There was a lot more we could have done like focus on our offense more to be more prepared going into the game.”
