Facing the 5-1 Memorial Warriors on Tuesday for the first time in District 10-5A play, the Redhawks boys’ basketball team dropped their district record to 2-4 after a 64-49 loss.
“It’s not the result we wanted, but we’re proud of the team for giving themselves a chance against a top three team in the district,” assistant coach Bo Wilson said. “Our guys executed the game plan for the better part of three quarters. The score was within six at the start of the 4th, but we let it slip away from us at the end.”
Senior Reuben Levingston believes that scoring the ball in key moments is something that the Redhawks need to improve on.
“We performed to our best ability, but in the end, we just couldn’t make the right plays to get the win,” Levingston said. “We need to work more on making shots in important parts of the game and communicating with each other on the court.”
