In a close matchup against their rivals, the Centennial Titans, the boys’ basketball team lost 45-40 on Friday, dropping their District 10-5A record to 2-5.
The close proximity of the schools drew in a large crowd. Although the Redhawks came out with the loss, the support from the community is important as the team nears the end of the season.
“It‘s always a great feeling to have the road games feel like home games when the crowd shows up to pack the opposing team’s stands,” assistant coach Bo Wilson said. “We appreciate all the support we’ve had from the students, staff, and administration throughout the year and we’re ready to make a big push as we head into our last month of Redhawk basketball.”
After being up double digits in the 2nd quarter, the small mistakes accumulated and the Redhawks fell behind.
“I’m definitely disappointed about Friday’s loss,” senior Emory Williams said. “I strongly feel we should’ve won and that we could’ve won. We just needed to cut down on the little mistakes.”
