To the average person, few things would seem to be less connected than golf and the late English singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse.
But a biopic chronicling the life of the eccentric musician is releasing in only a few weeks, giving Redhawks golf an opportunity to channel her rebellious spirit against their opponents as they head into their spring season Tuesday. The boys will compete in the Tour 18 Match Play, while the girls travel to the Prairie Lakes Golf Course to take part in Spring at the Lakes.
For sophomore Gabe Fast, the first tournament of the new season is all about getting back in the zone.
“At first I feel nervous, but once I get into my zone the rest comes naturally,” Fast said. “[Tour 18 Match Play] is just about your average golf course, but it’s a little different based on the hazards and where the different greens are. Based on the weather, we’ll [likely] play good, but that’s my own personal prediction.”
