Wingspan: What made you decide to play the violin?
Bongale: “When my sister was in sixth grade and was planning to join orchestra, her middle school was hosting an event to try out instruments. While I was there, I remember being really bored the entire time, but started getting interested when someone started playing the violin. This was also the reason why I started playing the violin before middle school.”
Wingspan: What is your favorite part of playing the violin?
Bongale: “I like playing new and different pieces of music, especially ones that are based on movies or shows, as it makes learning the music more fun.”
Wingspan: What is your favorite part of orchestra?
Bongale: “I enjoy going through the experiences that come with orchestra, such as meeting new people and going to socials.”
Wingspan: How do you prepare for performance and concerts in orchestra?
Bongale: “I try to practice as much as I can, not only so I don’t mess up, but so I can be more confident with the piece and less anxious.”
Wingspan: What are you looking forward to in orchestra?
Bongale: “Since it’s my freshman year and I’m going to be in a new orchestra, I’m looking forward to meeting the directors as well as new people in my orchestra.”
