For the class of 2025, this year is all about lasts. To celebrate the end of a chapter, the PTSA is hosting several events throughout the school year. From bonfires to sunsets, seniors have many activities they can participate in to make their last year special.
Katie Walsh, the co-chair of the PTSA Senior Committee, helps plan the events to make them memorable for the students.
“Parents and the PTSA are excited to plan several events throughout the year for senior students,” Walsh said. “These are great opportunities to get together and celebrate their last year of high school. Considerable planning and communication go into each making each event unique and fun.”
PTSA offers a senior sunrise, a bonfire, Powder Puff football, a baccalaureate, and a senior sunset.
For senior Anaiah Warrior, this year is about making connections with the ones around her.
“I think seniors should participate in the senior events because it just gives you time to be around all the people who you may not see or talk to after high school, and you might take something from all of it,” Warrior said. “You may not realize it now but it will most definitely hit you later in life and you’ll probably appreciate that you did go and soaked in all the time being young because after this time goes by fast.”
Seniors have the opportunity to purchase a Senior Pass for $120, which covers all events or can purchase tickets individually.
Senior yard signs, fatheads, and t-shirts are also available for purchase.
“The next [event] is the Senior Bonfire on October 30 at Heritage Farmstead in Plano,” Walsh said. “We hope seniors will come out to all events and enjoy this time with their friends and classmates.”
