Temperatures may have cooled off a bit, but the heat is cranking up for the cross country teams as they head west for Saturday’s Southlake Invitational.
Coming off a Wylie meet that featured some hilly terrain, girls’ head coach Khera Vay is looking forward to the Southlake Invitational.
“Saturday’s meet is one of my favorite meets just because the course is really fast, it’s flat, and the grass is nice,” Vay said. “Competition is really stiff but the course wise is easy and is a good opportunity so we’ve been training through it but we should still run pretty good times and have a little confidence boost going into Lovejoy.”
With just over a month until the District 11-5A meet on Oct. 10, senior Dominic Ward has a good feeling about Saturday’s meet.
“I am very confident in my teammates to perform well and run a great race on Saturday,” Ward said. “I am excited for this race and many more.”
