Red and black may be the official school colors, but every fall, a splash of pink takes over The Nest as Student Council sells Pink Out shirts to raise awareness and funds for the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
But time is running out to buy one as Friday is the final day to purchase shirts for $20 each.
“The pink-out shirts are a tradition we have had for years and it is a great way to show your breast cancer awareness pride,” Student Council President, senior Joaquin Perez said. “It is also fun for the pink-out game because everyone will be matching. It also shows our support for people with breast cancer.”
Varsity cheerleader, senior Connelly Braden, enjoys seeing everyone come together at football games in themed outfits especially supporting such an important cause like breast cancer.
“As a cheerleader, it is always good to see the community come together dressed up in all of our themes but especially pink out because it supports a cause that some of my peers have been directly affected by,” Braden said.
Shirts distributed from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2., with students encouraged to wear their Pink Out shirt at the Oct. 3 Pink Out football game.
