Taking up a lot of space in my notes is a list of movies to watch. For every change in season, holiday, or occasion I keep an ongoing list of movies to match that mood.
With the fall season just around the corner, my list of fall themed movies from my notes is getting more use. I tend to spend a lot of time watching movies, especially in the months of Sept. to Dec.
The one actor that dominates the feel good fall category is undoubtedly Meg Ryan. Ryan stars in what I consider to be the holy trinity for this genre of movies – When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, and You’ve Got Mail. These three movies I find myself rewatching every year. The witty, funny, and imperfect relationships depicted in these movies and their backdrop of New York City or Seattle in the fall make them classics.
Good Will Hunting, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Silver Lining Playbook are three more movies that are also on this list. Something about these movies encapsulates the spirit of fall. A combination of the setting, the colors, and the music perfectly captures the feelings associated with fall – the nostalgia and comfort that come with the transition into the new season.
Other than these feel good, some movies on my list are the more spooky and Halloween themed, such as Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, and others. As Halloween gets closer, these are always fun to rewatch.
Keeping a list like this in my notes helps me look forward to the new season and embrace the changes that come with it.
