After winning 10-9 against Heritage, the Redhawk tennis team is gearing up for their away match against Independence Tuesday at 4 p.m..
With the Knights holding a second-place ranking in Frisco ISD tennis compared to Liberty’s fifth-place standing, junior varsity player Noyonika Banerjee is expecting a tough match.
“Independence is ranked #2,” Banerjee said. “So even though we won against Heritage, I’m expecting a challenge.”
Assistant coach David Sands agrees with Banerjee that the match will be close, but sees a victory as within reach if the athletes make the right moves.
“It will be a hard match with a lot of skill and strategy involved, so we will need to work hard and not get discouraged,” Sands said.
