The curtain opens Friday for the Redhawk Theater Department’s Fall production of the show Chemical Imbalance: a Jekyll and Hyde play.
This is one of the earlier productions in the history of the school, and Technical Theater Director Aaron Yowell thinks that this play creates the appropriate amount of challenges for the actors and technicians.
“[The play] gave the actors an opportunity to work on physical comedy, british accents, irish accents, scottish accents,” Yowell said. “[This] also gave the technicians an opportunity to make magic.”
Sophomore Dhillan Desai, who plays Xavier Utterson, thinks that this show requires actors to put in extra work in order to bring comedy to the stage.
“It’s such a funny show,” Desai said. “There’s so many bits that require us to be really physical and really comical. Overall, I just think if you’re in the audience watching it, you’re really gonna enjoy.”
The play opens its three day run Friday at 7 p.m. and continues with a second show Saturday at 7 p.m. and a final show Sunday at 2 p.m..
Tickets will be sold at the door and cost $5 for students and $8 for adults.
