The Redhawk tennis team had its hands full in the opening round of the 5A team tennis playoffs as they faced off against #4 Wakeland at Memorial High School. Taking on what may be a top contender for a state championship, the Wolverines topped the Redhawks 10-1.
“All the kids played really hard,” assistant coach David Sands said. “Now we gear up for the spring season and work on match-ups and pair-ups for that.”
For junior Noyonika Banerjee, the match was a learning moment to find skills to improve on for the spring season.
“I’m using the outcome of this match to grind during off season work on our flaws,” Banerjee said. “Really just improving our play as well as fitness this season.”
