The meeting began with an update from the Future Ready Committee, showcasing some upcoming plans and a presentation from Independence High School on their future ready events.
The board also held discussions regarding 2023-24 assessment results, including student STAAR, AP, and SAT scores, with scores overall meeting standards or above. The board will continuously work with the current reports and adjust future testing preparation to fix any weak areas.
Next, the board went over priorities created by the Legislative Leadership Committee, involving new and improved subcommittee plans.
Lastly, the board reviewed human resources updates and quarterly budget reports.
