Adding onto their now nine-game winning streak, the Redhawk volleyball team (9-1) drove down the street and took down the Centennial Titans (8-2) 3-1 Tuesday, breaking the two teams’ tie for first place in the District 11-5A standings.
“Overall, it was a really good night for us,” assistant coach Jayci Morton said. “We were a little shaky with our defense and offense in the second set and defense in the third, but at the end of the day it was a really good victory.”
For senior Sophia Hung, beating Centennial for the second time, after a 3-0 victory in September, adds to the satisfaction of this match’s other outcomes.
“Apart from the fact that we were able to break our tie with them for first [in district] and hold on to our winning streak, defeating them a second time was very nice,” Hung said.
