The volleyball team (10-1) has yet another rematch on their hands as they make the short trip to face the sixth-place Independence Knights Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., with hopes of maintaining their 10-game winning streak and first-place standing in District 11-5A.
“We want to be consistent throughout the match and work on extending points with coverage and defensive hustle,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said.
The last time these two teams met on the court, the Redhawks swept the Knights with a 3-0 victory, and Dobbins is confident the team can pull off another win.
“We had a good game against them in the first round and did a good job of controlling what they liked to do,“ Dobbins said. “Hopefully we can do the same Tuesday.”
Knowing the Redhawks have a target on their backs due to their place at the top of the standings, junior Morgan Ferguson says the team will have to work hard to win.
“We will have to just go out there and put all our effort on the court, not give them too many opportunities to score,” Ferguson said.
