Only two games are left in the football season, with the Redhawks taking on the Memorial Warriors Thursday at Toyota Stadium.
“I feel like we really do have a chance tonight,” senior Zein Amer said. “What else is the goal but a win, I feel like we have a chance.”
With the Warriors having only one district win, compared to the Redhawks’ record of 0-6, head football coach Matt Swinnea believes the two teams to be on a similar level.
“This game more than any is one where you just got emotionally ready to play,” Swinnea said. “I feel like we match up pretty well with them and so really it’s just a matter of executing on offense and doing a better job defensively.”
Initially leading against Independence four weeks ago, Swinnea does not want a repeat Thursday.
“It’s a lot like the Independence game, you know,” Swinnea said. “After the Independence game, we have put so much into it that we really were kind of heartbroken after losing that one. You can either be disciplined or be disappointed.”
