This week marks the beginning of Red Ribbon Week, a national initiative aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drug use. A series of fun dress-up days are scheduled Monday through Thursday to celebrate and promote this important message.
Counselor Ryan Kiefer believes that dress-up days are not only fun but also serve a purpose.
“The dress-up days are just to have fun, but our hope is that even students who may not want to participate will see the costumes and it triggers thoughts in their heads about anti-drug messages,” Kiefer said.
Here’s a breakdown of the themed dress-up days:
- Monday: Wear Hats
- Tuesday: 80s Day
- Wednesday: Pajama Day
- Thursday: Halloween Costume Day
