It was a short playoff journey for the District 11-5A volleyball champions as the Redhawks were knocked out in the first round, losing to the Lone Star Rangers 3-1 Tuesday at Lebanon Trail.
For the seniors on the team, the night was emotional, as it marked the final time they will play a match as Redhawks, and for some, perhaps the final time they will play scholastic volleyball.
“I was so so proud of them for what they did and fight all the way to the very end,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “Obviously, it’s a bummer that it didn’t work out. You have two really good teams going against each other it could have gone either way.”
With the loss, senior Mackenzie Raymond has played her final match of high school volleyball.
“I am so so sad,” Raymond said. “This program has been life-changing for me and I would not be who I am today without all of my amazing teammates and coaches.”
