After a five-day weekend, students return to class on Wednesday with mixed feelings about the return. For many, the break was a chance to relax and enjoy time away from school, though the transition has brought challenges.
“Coming back after the break feels tiresome, but it’s fun because I get to see all my friends and study things I enjoy,” junior Abraham La Rosa Ortega said. “This was definitely a much-needed break.”
Senior Avery Peters felt the break was the perfect length, and teachers’ support has made the return to school manageable.
“I feel like it was just the right amount of time,” Peters said. “If it were longer, coming back would be harder, but this was perfect. Although returning to schoolwork has been a bit challenging, the teachers have been really understanding, so it hasn’t been too rough.”
To adjust to back-to-school life, junior Rupal Shirpurkar is prioritizing herself to ease the change.
“Coming back from such a long break is hard, so I’m focusing on sleep and mental health to catch up on my classes,” Shirpurkar said.
