Football takes the field for the last time Friday when they take on Anna at Kuykendall beginning at 5:00 p.m.
“[We’ve] just got to leave it all out there,” senior Khaleb Cooper said. “It’s gonna be sad going out there for the last time, but we got our win.”
With their games usually starting at 7:00, Friday’s game had to be moved to 5:00 due to inclement weather in the forecast. The intention of starting the game early is to help offset any weather related delays as a lightning strike within ten miles of the field leads to a 30 minute delay.
“It affects momentum,” head coach Matt Swinnea siad. “You’ve got a 30 minute timeout and so it’s just a matter of handling the adversity.”
The weather not only affects game time, but the team’s strategy, and potentially the outcome of the game.
“If it is wet and raining then throwing the ball may be hard,” Swinnea said. “So probably, who can run the ball the best and stop the run the best [will win].”
