Through PTSA’s Reflections contest, centered around the theme “Accepting Imperfection,” students have until Friday to showcase their creativity across six categories: Visual Arts, Photography, Music Composition, Dance Choreography, Literature, and Film Production.
“This year’s theme reminds us that everyone’s journey is unique and that imperfections build resilience,” PTSA’s Arts in Education Liaison, Monika Chitre said. “Perfection has become an expectation for so many students, whether it’s through family pressures or social media. Reflections gives students a chance to express their individuality without the pressure to be flawless.”
A valuable opportunity to showcase her passion and build confidence, junior Samriddhi Parashar hopes to inspire others to value the arts.
“This opportunity represents a way for me to showcase what I’m passionate about while earning something as well,” Parashar said. “I feel like it boosts my confidence while also teaching others the value of art forms, highlighting that the arts have a chance too. With money involved, I believe more people would be encouraged to share what they love without being forced to express themselves in a certain way by society’s expectations.”
