The boys’ basketball team’s record now stands at 4-2 after they successfully defended The Nest from the Haltom City Buffaloes (3-1) with a 65-45 victory.
“Our group did a phenomenal job following the game plan against the zone Haltom runs,” assistant coach Robert Wilson said. “Over the weekend we’d seen a trend of taking quick shots or heavily contested shots, and we made it a point to address the issue in film. We felt great about the way we executed, and with how well we moved the ball against them. There’s some things we need to clean up on the defensive end, but it was a solid effort overall.”
Leading all Redhawks with 20 points, junior Gilbert Aluga and the team took advantage of Haltom’s defense and built a 14 point halftime lead.
“We handled the pressure and scored whenever we got the opportunities,” Aluga said. “It was a good game.”
