Wingspan: When and why did you start playing golf?
Zhang: “My dad has always encouraged my sister and me to work hard at golf since we were seven. He used to play too.”
Wingspan: What is your favorite part about playing golf?
Zhang: “Winning is definitely my favorite part, but I love all the new friends I have made and people I have grown closer with. I also love when I play with my sister.”
Wingspan: Who is your biggest inspiration?
Zhang: “My biggest inspiration is my sister. She went here and graduated last year and now plays golf at Texas Wesleyan. I hope to get to play golf there just like her.”
Wingspan: Who is your biggest supporter?
Zhang: “My parents are my biggest supporters because they’ve always helped me every step of the way.”
Wingspan: What is your favorite course to play and why?
Zhang: “My favorite course to play is PGA it’s absolutely gorgeous and is nice and newer. I love it when we get to play there.”
Wingspan: What is your greatest challenge playing golf?
Zhang: “The pressure is my greatest challenge. Usually, in tournaments people are watching, whether it’s people or college coaches. It can be very nervewracking.”
Wingspan: Do you plan on continuing your golf career after high school? Why or why not?
Zhang: “Like I said the dream would to play at Texas Wesleyan. But if I don’t DBU would be nice too.”
