Parents and students interested in exploring Collin College’s dual credit program will have the chance to learn more during informational meetings scheduled for this week.
Dual credit classes provide high school students with an affordable way to earn college credit without the need for standardized testing, offering a unique opportunity to gain early college experience while remaining in a high school environment.
“We’re going to get updates on how a student is doing, and we’ll be able to talk to them if they need to consider dropping a course,” counselor Kelli Chandler said. “It’s nice because they’re tiptoeing into the college environment while still having the safety net of high school.”
The meetings will take place in the school auditorium. Parents are invited to attend a session on Thursday at 8 a.m., while students will have their meeting on Friday during advisory.
