In their final game before the start of District 11-5A play, the boys’ basketball team (11-6) seeks to rebound from a 47-40 loss to Wakeland (10-5) as they travel to Denison to face the Yellowjackets (13-2).
“Lately our biggest challenge has been ourselves,” assistant coach Robert Wilson said. “We haven’t been just fully shut down from what the other team is doing, it’s more so us beating ourselves. If we can overcome some of the adversity we’ve created for ourselves, then we’ll be alright. I just want us to go out there and compete.”
However, junior Toshiro Mahtani is feeling confident that what the team has been practicing will help them come out with a win.
“It will be a tougher game, but if we apply the things we have been working on to both ends of the floor, we can definitely win,” Mahtani said.
