For 14 years, Red Rhythm has celebrated team appreciation through heartfelt love notes–an inspirational note that makes team members feel confident and appreciated.
According to Drill Team Director Nicole Nothe, a love note is more than just a simple piece of paper; it embodies the team’s theme for the year.
“A love note is a simple sheet of paper, and it goes with the theme,” Nothe said. “Our theme is bloom this year, and it’s taking a moment to address the person that has been selected for the week. It highlights their favorite memory about the person who is on our team, as well as something that has stood out to them during the week about this dancer. It’s just a special moment to say thank you to the person being spotlighted.”
Each week, the team’s social officers choose two team members to receive a love note with messages from their teammates. Junior and Red Rhythm historian Tanvi Jain believes these notes spotlight accomplishments and strengthen team relationships.
“Whenever we receive a love note, we always say, ‘You are loved,’ and that is so true,” Jain said. “It allows us to show appreciation for the whole team. When you receive one, you truly feel that everyone appreciates your effort and values your relationships with others.”
