Continuing their winning streak, the girls’ basketball team (8-9, 3-0) won their home game against Centennial (3-11, 0-3) 53-11 Tuesday. With the win, the Redhawks remain first in District 11-5A play.
For sophomore Danivea Hughes, keeping a lead over Centennial each quarter and implementing fundamental principles was vital for the win.
“Making sure that we kept them under five points per quarter and making sure that we were not dominant in defensive and offensive rebounds [was important],” Hughes said. “As well as continuing to play our game and not get sloppy and remembering our fundamentals or our principles.”
