Student Council applications are now open for sophomores and juniors. From planning homecoming, to organizing pep rallies…. STUCO helps with various events around the school.
Now is the time of year when incoming juniors and seniors for the 2025-26 school year can apply to become part of student council.
Students in STUCO can gain leadership opportunities according to student council president Joaquin Perez.
“I think all sophomores and junior should apply to be a part of STUCO because it’s just such a great opportunity and it gives you a chance to be really involved on campus,” Perez said. “And if you have ideas about things you want to do on campus, you really have a say in that stuff.”
But the application process is more than just a quick form to be filled out according to student council advisor kandy stevens.
“It is a lengthy application,” Stevens said. “It does require that the applicant think of an original community service project from start to start to finish, they have to come up with the original idea what it takes to execute that and what kind of marketing techniques, what kind of resources we have to have. So we use those applications or that information from those applications.”
The application window to apply ends on January 29th.
