Achieving their goal of improving to 3-3 record in District 11-5A play, the boys’ basketball team beat the Frisco Raccoons (1-5) 59-44 on the road Tuesday. With the win, the Redhawks find themselves tied with Centennial and Independence for third place in the district standings.
“As long as they had to inbound off the turnover, we felt confident our defense would do what was necessary to be successful,” assistant coach Robert Wilson said. “Frisco is also a great shooting team and we wanted to limit the amount of open looks they received. Our guys worked hard at that, affecting some of the shots, but we may have let them have one or two more than we would’ve liked.”
Junior Easton Fink believes the team has the ability to be more successful once they address a few things.
“As long as we keep working on the things our coaches have been telling us and handle the pressure the other teams put on us, we can keep pulling off victories like this one,” Fink said.
