Currently 3-3 in District 11-5A play and tied with Centennial and Independence for third place in the district standings, the boys’ basketball team will host the Lebanon Trail TrailBlazers (0-6) Friday at 7:15 p.m. as they look for another win.
“We feel that we’ve been taking steps in the right direction, and now it’s about stringing together solid practices and being consistent every Tuesday and Friday night,” assistant coach Robert Wilson said. “We always feel confident going into our games, but we can’t let that confidence get too high where we get too big for ourselves. We tell the guys all the time, it’s never as good as it seems, it’s never as bad as it seems. We’re trying to beat our best by a little, every single day.”
Senior Jacob Nickell feels confident that the team can pull off another win.
“We’ve been doing great lately,” Nickell said. “As long as we limit the amount of turnovers we let them get and really pressure them when they have the ball, I think we can handle them just fine.”
