The boys’ basketball team (4-3) walked away with a 61-48 win against the Lebanon Trail TrailBlazers (0-7) at The Nest Friday, remaining in third place in the district standings.
The Redhawks hit the court again Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. when they travel down the road to take on the Centennial Titans (3-4).
When the two rivals squared off in December, the Redhawks lost 57-48. However, assistant coach Robert Wilson understands what’s at stake in the big game.
“This is a must win game for us,” Wilson said. “Not only is it a big rivalry but a win would improve our place in districts and get us closer to the playoffs.”
With the race for the playoffs shaping up, players like junior Toshiro Mahtani know that they need to bring their best game.
“We need to be firing on all cylinders across the court,” Mahtani said. “OffensiveLu and defensively we need to stay focused and stay in the game.”
