Wingspan: When and why did you start playing soccer?
Ruback: “I started playing soccer when I was arond three and I started because my soccer because my mom was the coach.”
Wingspan: What is your favorite part about soccer?
Ruback: “My favorite part about soccer is the competitiveness and the team aspect too. It’s a sport where your team is a huge part of the game. I love how fast paced the game is and I enjoy the fact that there is always something to improve too.”
Wingspan: Who is your biggest inspiration?
Ruback: “My biggest inspiration is definitely my club coach because he brings the best player and person out of me. He constantly makes sure I’m motivated and ready to work.”
Wingspan: Who is your biggest supporter?
Ruback: “My biggest supporter is my dad. He makes sure he’s at every one of my games no matter what and I’m so grateful for the countless hours he’s put into my soccer journey.”
Wingspan: How do you juggle being a multi-sport athlete?
Ruback: “It’s definitely hard being a multi-sport athlete, but it’s what I like to do. It’s always a struggle to balance my time management, but I make sure that I am communicating with my coaches and the biggest thing is making sure my body is well fueled, especially for when I go to XC or track and then straight to soccer.”
Wingspan: What are your goals for this season?
Ruback: “My goals for this season is to stay positive no matter what, make sure I’m always working my hardest, and improve on ball handling under pressure. These goals will help not only me but my team to stay focused and win some games.”
Wingspan: Do you plan to continue your soccer career after high school why or why not?
Ruback: “It’s been a really hard decision for me, but I’ve decided that I want to continue soccer to the next level because my passion for the sport has not gone away and I’m ready to compete at a higher level doing what I love.”
